Our rich heritage
Catherington House was built in the eighteenth century, originally as a family home to Admiral Hood, mentor to Admiral Lord Nelson, before being transformed into a school in 1995.
The founders and community of parents who had signed their children up to start at Kingscourt rolled up their sleeves and worked together to ready the building for opening.
This reflects the continued ethos of the school today; a real partnership between parents and school. The values of kindness, resilience, respect and responsibility are very important to us and make Kingscourt the nurturing yet aspirational school it has always been.
